Having started
private practice in 1968, Dr. Bronner just finished his
first forty years of practice as a child psychiatrist. He
graduated from the University of Southern California/Los
Angeles County Medical Center in 1970.
This was at the height of the application of psychoanalytic
understanding of personality development to everyday
psychiatric practice, a most useful combination defined as
insight-oriented intensive psychotherapy. Regrettably, it is
no longer taught or practiced much today due to
medical/political/financial factors with which we’re all
familiar.
Dr. Bronner has written THE HANDBOOK in
English for the benefit of those therapists who desire a
more thorough understanding of personality development
integrating biology, embryology, psychology, learning
theory, communications theory, sociology, physiology, child
and adult psychiatry and psychoanalytic principles.
To repeat, THE HANDBOOK is written in English and the
clients will be able to understand it as well, once
explained to them. The therapist is free to share selected
sections with them, if they wish. Using the concepts
described in THE HANDBOOK, therapists can assist their
clients in a deeper understanding of their hidden emotional
pathology. This will enable them to find the causes of
lifelong symptoms of anxiety and depression.
