Biography

Philip R. Bronner, M.D. is a sixty-eight year old child psychiatrist who has just finished his first forty years in practice. He specialized in child psychiatry at the University of Southern California. He drew his inspiration from his great-uncle William Healy M.D., the founder of the Child Guidance System. Dr. Bronner worked in private practice treating children, adolescents, adults and families, at the California Youth Authority, at Mule Creek State Prison, and as a consultant for the Kern Regional Center. He also was and is a consultant for the Los Angeles and Kern Counties Juvenile Court. He currently maintains an active full-time practice for children and adults. He utilizes in-depth individual, group and family therapy, along with medication and intervention services as needed. Dr. Bronner has two children and lives in Bakersfield California.

Dr. Bronner wrote THE HANDBOOK between 2004-07 to preserve the valuable clinical information he uses and to pass this information along to the next generation of therapists.
